There is a spectacular mix of squalor and beauty once you stagger past the open sewers that seep through the fabric of Georgetown. The humidity is intense and suffocating but once in the jungle you learn to embrace it, flow with it like the vast rivers you travel upon. Some come to discover new species of plant or animal; others come to discover a new species of human being. For it is here they have left behind the conformities of civilization to drink from the still ponds that make up the Land of Many Waters; to endure the endless undergrowth of chaos that claims to be one of the last great wildernesses on earth.
